In 1905, Shyamji embarked on a new career as a full-fledged propagandalist. He made
his debut by publishing the first issue of his English monthly "The Indian Sociologist"
- an organ of freedom and of political, social and religious reform. This powerful
ideological monthly served a great purpose in uplifting the mass against British
rule and encouraged many more intellectual revolutionaries in India and abroad to
fight for the freedom of India.

On 22nd July 1947, the Constituent Assembly adopted it as Free India National Flag.

On 15 August 1947 the dominions of India and Pakistan were established. The National
flag of India is a horizontal rectangular tricolour of deep saffron, white and dark
green with the Ashok Chakra, a 24-spoke wheel, in navy blue at its centre.
The tricolor had been used, unofficially, since the early 1920s as the flag of the
Indian National Congress, with the colors representing Hinduism (orange), Islam
(green), and a hoped-for unity and peace (white).
The Indian national flag was designed in 1916 by Pingali Venkayya from Machilipatnam.
The tricolour flag designed by him, with a charkha in the centre was adopted by
the Congress committee in 1931 at Karachi. The flag is based on the Swaraj flag.
The spoked Ashoka Chakra (the "wheel of the law" of the 3rd-century BC Mauryan Emperor
Ashoka) replaced the Gandhian spinning wheel (charkha) to add historical "depth"
and separate the national flag from the Indian political party flag.
