Viranjali Yatra
The last wish of Shyamji Krishna Varma was fulfilled by the Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi who received the ashes in Geneva on 22nd August, 2003.
Thereafter the ashes were brought to Mumbai and carried in a Viranjali Yatra which traversed the entire State for 25th August, 2003 to 4th September, 2003 covering a distance of 2029 kilometers. Emotionally surcharged public meetings were held at 61 places in 17 districts.

Jawaharlal Neharu
Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14 November 1889 in Allahabad in British India. His father, Motilal Nehru, a wealthy barrister who belonged to the Kashmiri Pandit community, served twice as President of the Indian National Congress during the Independence Struggle.
According to B.R. Nanda Nehru was disdainful of religion, his theosophical interests had induced him to the study of the Buddhist and Hindu scriptures.
Nehru played a leading role in the development of the internationalist outlook of the Indian freedom struggle. He sought foreign allies for India and forged links with movements for freedom and democracy all over the world.
Nehru was elected by the Indian National Congress to assume office as independent India's first Prime Minister in 1947.
Nehru, the man and politician made such a powerful imprint on India that his death on 27 May 1964, left India with no clear political heir to his leadership.
On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh, Shivram Rajguru, and Sukhdev were hanged to death.
